Can ionic liquids be good candidates for extractive denitrogenation of fuel oil? A systematic review

چکیده مقاله:
In this work, we investigate the new method of denitrogenation process with ionic liquids which noticed by researches around the world for recent decades. The nitrogen compound removal from fuel oil is an essential process because of its effect on the desulfurization process inside of air pollution, global warming and making acid rain. The common denitrogenation process in the refinery industry is hydrodenitrogenation which needs high temperature and pressure, catalyst and its dangerous. So, the researchers investigate the alternative methods which one of the important of them is using ionic liquids as extractant. The ionic liquids known as green solvents and they are environmentally friendly so can be a green candidate for hydrogen replacement in denitrogenation process. From many researches on the denitrogenation of the fuel oil using ionic liquids, we found that they can remove nitrogen compounds of fuel oil in the room temperature and pressure at about ۲۰ minutes without any catalyst with the removal-efficiency about ۹۹%. Also, they can be regenerate for ۵ times without sensible change in their removal efficiency. So, we can mention that the ionic liquids have proven to be not only good extractants for denitrogenation of fuel oil but also good candidates for industrial application.
