چکیده مقاله:
In an era where global gasoline demand is witnessing a marked contraction due to electrification, stringent environmental regulations, and changing consumer preferences, refineries are under immense pressure to optimize profitability. One of the most effective yet underutilized strategic levers in this evolving scenario is naphtha molecular management. This approach focuses on the precise control and manipulation of the molecular composition of naphtha to align with market shifts and refinery configuration capabilities. Naphtha, a crucial intermediate product in petroleum refining, plays a central role in the production of gasoline, petrochemicals, and hydrogen. As gasoline yields become less economically attractive, refining strategies must shift from volume-centric to value-centric approaches. Molecular management enables refiners to redirect naphtha streams toward higher-value outputs such as petrochemicals or hydrogen, or selectively enhance gasoline blending components when margins allow. It empowers refineries to adapt dynamically to fluctuating market signals while improving product slate and overall margin uplift. This article explores how strategic molecular management of naphtha serves as a game-changing tactic for navigating the complexities of a shrinking gasoline market. It delves deep into naphtha's molecular makeup, outlines the impact of various refining technologies, and presents case studies and best practices for optimizing refinery profitability through intelligent, data-driven molecular optimization.
