چکیده مقاله:

The inconsistent design and application of speed bumps across different regions, including within the Netherlands, pose challenges to road safety and can negatively impact community well-being. This article argues for the standardization of speed bump design, placement, and signage to improve their effectiveness in reducing vehicle speeds, minimizing potential damage to vehicles and discomfort to occupants, and fostering safer and more livable communities. By establishing clear guidelines based on scientific research and best practices, and considering the specific context of Dutch road design and regulations, standardization can optimize the benefits of speed bumps while mitigating their drawbacks.
