چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: The clinical care coordinator plays a key role in providing comprehensive and optimal care to patients, especially in complex diseases such as colorectal cancer. This role includes leadership, coordination of interdisciplinary teams, planning and follow-up of care from admission to discharge, and ensures patient safety and well-being with a focus on quality assurance, continuous improvement, and maintenance of accreditation standards. There are two main approaches to this role: an exclusive role in which the nurse is exclusively the care coordinator and an augmented role in which care coordination is added to the nurse's usual duties. In the management of colorectal cancer, the care coordinator contributes significantly to improving treatment outcomes and quality of life for patients by facilitating communication between different specialties and pursuing multidisciplinary treatments. So this study aims to implement and evaluate colorectal cancer care coordinator nurse educational program. Materials and Methods: In this developmental study, the colorectal cancer care coordinator nurse training course was designed in the form of ۷ modules and piloted on ۵ nurses with at least ۶ months of clinical work experience. Learners were recruited through information provided to health centers and the nursing system organization, and after qualification was confirmed, they participated in the course. Training sessions were held in a combination of in-person and virtual sessions using the Navid virtual education system and Google Meet platform. Training content included principles of patient education, infection control, patient safety, familiarity with colorectal cancer, information technology in nursing, executive tasks, and palliative care. Feedback, challenges, and strengths of the program were collected and analyzed during the course to improve the quality and effectiveness of the program. In this study, learner evaluation was conducted based on the Miller Pyramid, which includes four levels of knowledge (Knows), competence (Knows How), demonstration of ability (Shows How), and actual performance (Does). Initial and final evaluations were conducted as pre-tests and post-tests with multiple-choice questions, and scores were compared. Also, educational items designed in Storyline software and practical skills were evaluated by direct observation and a structured checklist. In formative evaluation, a passing score was not determined, but the results helped identify the strengths and weaknesses of the training. The evaluation questions included four-choice, true/false, and descriptive questions, which were designed based on the goals of the three cognitive, emotional, and psychomotor domains and were approved by ۸ experts in terms of content and face validity. The criterion for passing the course was obtaining at least ۷۰ percent of the total score of the modules, assignments, and practical skills, with a score of ۷۰ to ۷۹ being considered average
