چکیده مقاله:

Purpose: This descriptive-correlational cross-sectional study aimed to determine the relationship between social support, depression, and anxiety in patients with spinal cord injury. Materials & Method: The study was conducted on ۹۴ patients at Pouya and Bahonar Hospital Rehabilitation Centers in Iran. Perceived social support was measured using the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), and depression and anxiety were assessed with the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression in IBM SPSS Statistics ۲۶ (trial version). Results: Participants (mean age = ۴۲, ۵۹.۶% male) reported moderate social support (۳۶.۸ ± ۸.۰۱), mild depression (۹.۷۱ ± ۳.۷۳), and mild anxiety (۱۰.۳۶ ± ۴.۴). Levels of social support, depression, and anxiety varied significantly by education, employment, income, marital status, and caregiver type (p < ۰.۰۵). There were strong negative correlations between social support and depression (r = –۰.۷۵۰) and anxiety (r = –۰.۸۶۸). Conclusion: Greater social support was significantly associated with lower depression and anxiety. Findings suggest the importance of psychosocial support in nursing education, early detection of psychological symptoms, and family involvement in care, offering a foundation for future research and healthcare planning.
