چکیده مقاله:

This research evaluates the role of economic management in improving and expanding sports facilities in Iran. This is an applied research conducted with a mixed approach. The statistical population includes professors and managers of Iranian government sports centers in ۲۰۲۳, who were selected purposefully. A qualitative approach with open and axial coding, alongside interpretive structural modeling, was used to analyze the data.  Findings from coding identified several managerial barriers: social barriers, human barriers, poor quality of domestic products, chronic and stable budget deficits, national economic obstacles, structural issues, wear and tear of facilities, lack of sufficient authority, and weak managerial skills.  The research results indicate that three critical obstacles—national economic barriers, structural barriers, and poor quality of domestic products—rank at the first level as the most significant. The second level includes the lack of managerial skills and insufficient authority. Meanwhile, deterioration and low quality of sports facilities, along with chronic budget deficits, occupy the third level. Social and human barriers were positioned at the last level of significance.  Iran faces substantial economic challenges and structural limitations, further intensified by its non-alignment with global standards and systems. Understanding these constraints within the sports sector emphasizes the urgent need to implement general policies aligned with the resistance economy. Addressing these barriers could play a pivotal role in overcoming limitations and fostering the sustainable development of sports equipment and facilities in Iran.
