Proper nutrition has a direct impact on the performance and behavior of students in school. Many of the studies that were reviewed; It has been confirmed that nutrition has a direct impact on neurotransmitters, which are important in sending messages from the body to the brain. Certain dietary components have been shown to have negative effects on this system, many of which are common in the daily diet of school-aged children. Unfortunately, the nutrition programs in many schools are not providing adequate nutrition. This problem has also contributed to the obesity rate among students, which has also contributed to lower achievement in school. In many studies, it has been shown that malnutrition directly affects the cognitive development of children. In this article, recommendations are reviewed and presented for ways that schools and families can help improve the nutrition of their meal programs, thus taking steps to ensure that students receive the energy necessary for cognitive development and normal social skills.
