چکیده مقاله:

In this study, sweet lemon peel ash (SLPA) as a natural, green, cost-effective, simple and rapid sorbent was prepared to remove basic blue ۴۱ (BB۴۱) dye from aqueous solutions. The synthesized adsorbent was characterized using different techniques such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Inductivity coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES).The effective factors on the adsorption process of BB۴۱ on SLPA was investigated simultaneously using the combination of central composite design and response surface methodology, resulted in the following optimal condition: ۰.۰۶ g of adsorbent, ۶.۰۴ of pH, ۴۰ ppm of the dye concentration and ۲۰ min of removal time. At this optimal condition, kinetic and equilibrium studies were investigated and the results reveal that the kinetic process obeyed pseudo-second-order model with ۰.۰۲۲۷ g. mg-۱. min-۱ of rate constant. And the adsorption isotherm was well-fitted by Freundlich model suggesting chemisorption mechanism for adsorption of the dye on SLPA. Finally, this proposed adsorbent was applied for the removal of BB۴۱ in two different real water samples, resulted in more than ۹۰% of the removal percentage of the dye.
