Succinctly stated, in the past few years, the important side of keeping ornamental fish in aquariums at home has increased among all categories of fish, primarily among live-bearing species like Molly (Poecilia sphenops) and the Guppy (Poecilia reticulata) because it is effective in reducing stress and is thus improving quality of life. This research project was intended to investigate the influences of physical, chemical, and biological environmental conditions on reproduction, social behaviors, and habitat of these two species under controlled laboratory conditions. For ۹۰ days during the season autumn-winter of ۱۴۰۳, four aquariums hosted different temperature settings (۲۳, ۲۵, ۲۸, and ۳۲ degrees Celsius). According to results, the optimum reproduction rates were obtained from the temperature ۲۵ degrees for both species, while higher temperatures tremendously reduce the litter size. On the other hand, social behavior, preference of partner, reaction to feed, and preferred habitat reflected quite different patterns between the two species. Therefore, it suggests that a peculiar arrangement of living conditions, including optimum temperature, preferable pH (۶.۸ to ۷.۵), proper water hardness (۵–۱۵ dGH), and use of natural vegetation, is vital to increasing the reproductive indices plus survivability of offspring. Thus, this research would add to the sustainable development of the ornamental fish industry by making recommendations of optimally environmental conditions for breeding.
