This study explores a polystyrene-based nanocomposite loaded with copper nanoparticles, created through electrospinning, and its ability to fight bacteria. We used tools like atomic absorption spectroscopy, UV-Vis, infrared spectroscopy, X-ray analysis, and electron microscopy to confirm its structure. Antibacterial tests, following the AATCC ۱۰۰-۱۹۹۳ standard, showed it's highly effective against Staphylococcus aureus (gram-positive) and Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae (gram-negative) bacteria. The more copper we added (۵۰۰ to ۲۰۰۰ ppm), the better it worked, wiping out up to ۹۲% of bacteria. Its ability to kill germs in everyday conditions makes it a promising option for cleaning water or creating germ-resistant medical fabrics.
