A Review on Silver Nanoparticles in Water and Wastewater Treatment

Researchers today are interested in the use of nanotechnology for water and wastewater treatment. Purifying water with silver has long been known, the usual methods of purification or disinfection of water or a variety of chemical filtration cause the production of harmful byproducts. Advances in nanotechnology provide the right solution to many of the current problems related to water purification. It is traditionally used in a wide range of applications. Today, the production of silver nanoparticles of various forms, which have a variety of applications in different fields, has attracted the attention of many researchers. Potential use of silver nanoparticles for water purification and relative effectiveness of its bacterial filtration plus variety in various forms such as spherical shape Silver nanowires or cubic forms, as well as various synthesis methods such as physical, chemical, or microwave silver nanoparticles, have been reviewed in this study.
