چکیده مقاله:
One of the main issues and needs of society is ensuring safety in various aspects for individuals. One crucial area where the safety and protection of human lives and related equipment must be emphasized is working with electricity. Therefore, proper protective measures must be taken during its use to prevent bodily harm and financial losses due to electric shock. In normal electrical circuits, the outgoing current is equal to the returning current. However, if there is any discrepancy between the phase and neutral currents (in single-phase circuits), leakage current occurs in the circuit. This leakage current may result from the grounding of an electrical device, where the current returns to the source through the ground instead of the neutral wire. Leakage current can also flow through a person's body if they are in contact with the ground and accidentally touch an energized part of the circuit, leading to potential injury or fatality. Nowadays, a protective switch called a Residual Current Device (RCD) is used to protect against leakage currents
