چکیده مقاله:
Weeds compete with wheat for water, light, nutrients, and space. Their interference can cause significant yield reduction in wheat. There are different methods of weed control. The use of chemical herbicides has negative effects on environmental, animal and human health. Thus, biological control has become an effective alternative to control many weeds. These biological herbicides can decrease the use of synthetic herbicides and reduce their negative environmental impact. Therefore, the purpose of the present study was to assay the effect of resulting wastewater from the synthesis of quercetin-selenium nanoparticles (Q-SeNPs) on wooly brome weeds of wheat fields and investigate their bioherbicidal activity. The obtained results showed that the weight and length of plumules and radicles of wooly brome weed was completely reduced (۱۰۰%) compared to the control plants. Q-SeNPs wastewater showed no significant effect on the biomass and length of wheat plants. Consequently, in the current study, resulting Q-SeNPs wastewater can used as a promising herbicide in inhibiting weeds growth.
