An updated checklist of the ladybird beetles (Col., Coccinellidae) of Nepal

The checklist of ladybird beetles in the coleopteran family Coccinellidae of Nepal includes ۲۱۹ species belonging to ۱۲ tribes and ۵۵ genera. They are distributed from a wide elevation range from ۸۱ m to ۴۵۰۰ m asl. Coccinella luteopicta (Mulsant, ۱۸۶۶) and Coccinella septempunctata Linnaeus, ۱۷۵۸ were recorded at the highest elevation, ۴۵۰۰ m asl. However, the most widespread species was C. septempunctata, occurring across an elevation range from ۸۱ m to ۴۵۰۰ m asl. Forty-five species are reported only from Nepal. Nepal is home to a rich diversity of ladybird beetle species, yet many parts remain insufficiently explored and the distribution locations of many species are still unknown, therefore more intensive study of this fauna is needed.
