چکیده مقاله:
Short-term memory challenges can substantially influence reaction times to visual and auditory stimuli. This occurs as the neural system's efficiency in processing information is altered during the storage and retrieval of data. On average, reaction times to these stimuli differ between men and women, highlighting potential gender-based variations in cognitive processing and response mechanisms. Previous research has demonstrated that reaction times to auditory stimuli are generally shorter compared to visual stimuli. Additionally, studies have reported that men exhibit faster reaction times to both types of stimuli than women. In this study, experiments were conducted at various times throughout the day using a sample of ۲۲۲ participants (۱۲۰ women and ۱۰۲ men). The data were analyzed based on time of day (day and night), type of stimulus (visual and auditory), and the gender of the participants. The results revealed that women outperformed men in response to auditory stimuli, demonstrating more efficient short-term memory moreover shorter reaction times under these conditions. A closer examination of these findings could contribute to a deeper understanding of neural system functionality and provide strategies for enhancing cognitive processing. Furthermore, the results of this study could be applied to the design of effective systems aimed at reducing reaction times and preventing unintended accidents.
