چکیده مقاله:

Titanium and its alloys are widely used in biomedical implants due to their excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. However, their bioinert nature limits osseointegration and increases the risk of implant failure. To overcome these limitations, surface modification strategies, particularly biocompatible coatings, are being explored to enhance biological performance. In this context, chitosan/mesoporous silicon oxide (MSNs) composite coatings offer promising potential due to their bioactivity, antibacterial properties, and ability to support cell adhesion and proliferation. Investigating the effect of such composite coatings on Ti alloys is crucial for advancing implant surface engineering. Therefore, dip coating method was applied to coating chitosan solution and synthesized MSNs on the surface of Ti alloy. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) results show that chitosan and chitosan/MSNs composites coatings are uniform thickness and crack-free. Furthermore, evaluation the swelling of coatings in water indicates that coatings with MSNs have less water swelling and adsorption than chitosan coatings.
