چکیده مقاله:

Developing anticorrosion methods for steel is economically important worldwide. One of the common methods is the use of inhibitors. This study presents the effective anti-corrosion properties of nanohybride particles that are loaded with dopamine and zinc as inhibitors. The in situ synthesis of silica on the MXene nanosheets resulted in the formation of this composite. MXene is a two-dimensional materials family, that has shown excellent performance in different uses. Silica nanoparticles, owing to their high surface area and porosity, are good candidates for absorption and the controlled release of corrosion inhibitors. SEM images proved successful synthesis of silica-MXene composite. The anti-corrosion properties improvement in the presence of the designed nanocarrier was proved by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) in a ۳.۵ wt.% NaCl solution. The results of the EIS test showed an increase in corrosion resistance, which improved the anti-corrosion performance due to the high absorption of dopamine and zinc in the silica and MXene composite.
