چکیده مقاله:

In recent years, environmental hazards from industrialization and urban development have significantly threatened human health, particularly through bone fractures. While some fractures can be treated with short-term interventions, severe cases require surgical implants to promote healing and accelerate recovery. Magnesium has emerged as a promising candidate for these applications due to its lightweight and high strength. However, its susceptibility to corrosion in aggressive environments necessitates further research to enhance its corrosion resistance, particularly through coatings. Hydroxyapatite (HA) coatings on magnesium substrates have demonstrated potential for improving corrosion resistance when immersed in simulated body fluid (SBF), forming a protective barrier and selectively absorbing corrosive ions. This review aims to explore additional components that can be integrated into HA coatings to further enhance corrosion resistance while maintaining biocompatibility. We will employ contact angle measurements, scanning electron microscopy, Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and antibacterial testing to evaluate these enhancements.
