چکیده مقاله:

This article reviews and investigates the versatile applications of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) in UV-curable coatings, emphasizing the role of different PDMS derivatives in enhancing coating performance. OH-terminated PDMS is widely employed in the synthesis of urethane acrylate resins, contributing to improved flexibility, chemical resistance, hydrophobicity, and adhesion properties. These enhancements make the coatings suitable for applications requiring durability and environmental resistance, such as automotive, aerospace, and electronic industries. On the other hand, vinyl-terminated PDMS is directly incorporated into UV-curable formulations, facilitating efficient crosslinking and improved mechanical and physical properties. The study highlights that PDMS incorporation significantly influences surface characteristics, reducing surface energy while enhancing scratch resistance and durability. These attributes make them ideal for high-performance industrial applications, including protective coatings, optical films, and biomedical devices. Overall, the integration of PDMS into UV-curable systems presents a promising strategy for engineering coatings with tailored properties, ensuring long-term performance and reliability across various demanding sectors.
