Formulating a structural equation model for the development of sports facilities with an approach to attract the private sector in line with sports tourism

Objective: The aim of the present research was to develop a structural equation model for the development of sports facilities with a focus on attracting private sector investment in the context of sports tourism. Methodology: This study is classified as a mixed-methods research, incorporating both exploratory and explanatory types, utilizing a qualitative-quantitative approach. In the qualitative section, ۱۵ experts in the fields of sports tourism and sports management were examined through in-depth interviews to present a systematic model of the findings. In the quantitative section, based on the results of the first phase, a questionnaire was developed and distributed to ۲۰۰ members of the Sports Tourism Commission and related experts after establishing its validity and reliability. Findings: The path coefficients of the components and indicators of the research were identified. In the institutional-political component, the indicator 'stress-free environment' had a correlation of ۸۴%. In the sports facilities component, the indicator 'construction of sports camps' had a correlation of ۷۶%. In the managerial-organizational component, the indicator 'removal of political and economic barriers to investment' had a correlation of ۶۵%, and in the cultural-social component, the investment security indicator had the highest impact with a correlation of ۹۳%.
