چکیده مقاله:
This study investigates the impact of technology and digital tools on the process of learning the English language, reflecting the growing importance of technological integration in educational settings worldwide. With the increasing prevalence of smartphones, online platforms, and language learning applications, understanding how these tools influence learners’ motivation, engagement, and proficiency has become critical. The primary aim of this research is to explore the various ways in which digital technologies contribute to enhancing English language acquisition, focusing on both their advantages and challenges. A qualitative descriptive research design was employed, relying on a comprehensive review of existing literature from academic databases and scholarly articles to gather relevant data. The analysis highlights that technology facilitates interactive and flexible learning environments, offering learners access to diverse multimedia resources, instant feedback, and opportunities for communication beyond traditional classrooms. Moreover, mobile-assisted language learning (MALL), gamification, and social media platforms have emerged as powerful tools that promote learner autonomy and cultural understanding. However, the research also identifies significant challenges such as technical issues, distractions, and unequal access to resources, which may hinder the learning process if not properly addressed. Ultimately, the findings underscore the role of technology as a valuable complement to traditional language teaching methods, rather than a full replacement. Integrating digital tools thoughtfully into language curricula can enhance learner outcomes by supporting engagement, accessibility, and personalized learning experiences. This study contributes to the ongoing discussion on optimizing language education through innovative technological means.
