Circadian rhythm, sleep disorders, and their mutual relationship with subarachnoid hemorrhage: A narrative review

Several studies have investigated the chronological distribution of subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) onset, but none have reached a definitive conclusion. Some found a significant peak of occurrence in the morning or the afternoon. However, others reported no significant circadian distribution. Because SAH is correlated with the time of day in some populations, researchers have attempted to investigate if there are any connections between SAH and sleep disorders. Given the inconsistent relationship between circadian rhythm (CR), sleep disorders, and SAH, this article sought to review the current body of evidence comprehensively. We have elucidated that CR and sleep disorders can impact the evolution and outcome of SAH and vice versa.
