This research aims to investigate the ability of C-۴-methoxy-phenyl-calix[۴]resorcinarene to impede the growth of CaSO۴ crust and its characterization. The study employed an experimental laboratory approach, utilizing a ۰.۱ M growth solution and the resorcinarene at ۱۰, ۲۰, ۳۰, and ۴۰ ppm concentrations. The procedure in this experiment was divided into several parts, including crystal seed preparation, determination of crust growth with and without inhibitors, and characterization of the inhibitory compound. This study proves that the resorcinarene compound can be used as a CaSO۴ crust inhibitor, with the most significant mass reduction (۵۳۸ mg) observed at ۴۰ ppm after ۶۰ minutes. Higher inhibitor concentrations enhanced the compound's ability to suppress CaSO₄ crust formation. FTIR spectra revealed peak shifts, indicating interactions between the compound's functional groups with crust-forming crystal nuclei (Ca۲+). SEM analysis showed that the surface morphology of the resorcinarene became more porous and rougher following its application as an inhibitor. Moreover, XRD analysis indicated a notable shift in the ۲θ peak along with an enlargement in the resorcinarene’s crystallite size, even as its crystallinity declined.
