چکیده مقاله:

The research examines the impact of POS (Point of Sale) system adoption on revenue generation and operational efficiency in the hospitality industry in Takoradi. It used both quantitative surveys of ۲۰۰ respondents in ۵۰ hotels and qualitative data based on ۲۰ semi-structured interviews conducted on the management and staff of these hotels. The relation of POS implementation and revenue growth was evaluated using regression analytical methods on quantitative data, whereas the thematic analysis was used on the qualitative part of the responses to provide insights on the operation and challenges of the entities. The results indicate that POS implementation enhances operational efficiency and helps in generating revenue, especially medium and large hotels that have good infrastructure and technical support. Surprisingly, small-scale hotels showed the highest percentage growth in revenue the adoption of POS which shows the unbalanced advantages of digital change in environments with a low resource pool. Nonetheless, major obstacles are costly implementation, less training of staff, and infrastructural limitations - in the case of smaller facilities. The research indicates that the uptake of POS could be improved through targeted policy to increase adoption and improve performance through government incentives, public-private partnership, and streamlined adoptions. The findings also provide good advice to hotel managers, policymakers, and technology suppliers who want to improve their competitiveness and service provision in the emerging hospitality industry.
