This study examined the discrimination of speech contrasts in two different views (phonemic and phonetic factors) on pre -intermediate EFL learners’ listening production. To this end, ۵۱female Iranian EFL learners including ۳ intact classes were hired randomly in this research. In this regard, three groups comprising ۲ experimental groups in order to assess ed their listening comprehension. In so doing, the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) was conducted for three groups in order to examine their listeni ng knowledge. The results of this study showed that two factors (phonemic & phonetic) outperformed control group in pre -test, post -test, and delayed post -test. In one -way ANOVAs, we found that p< ۰.۰۵ that was less than ۰.۰۵ confident. To the end, it indicates further suggestions and future trend for researchers in language pedagogy.
