چکیده مقاله:

This study investigates the impact of job stress and anxiety on the adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) principles among workers in the civil engineering and urban services units of Khomein Municipality. A total of ۱۰۰ workers participated in the study. Due to the physically demanding nature of their work and limited formal education, these employees are often exposed to high levels of occupational stress and psychological strain, which may undermine their compliance with essential safety protocols. A descriptive-analytical research design was employed, using standardized questionnaires for measuring job stress (Job Stress Survey) and anxiety (DASS-۲۱ Anxiety Subscale). The data were analyzed using SPSS software. Correlation and multiple regression analyses revealed a significant inverse relationship between job stress and HSE compliance (r = -۰.۶۳, p < ۰.۰۱), as well as between anxiety and HSE behavior (r = -۰.۵۸, p < ۰.۰۱). The regression model explained ۴۷% of the variance in safety compliance behavior. The findings highlight the urgent need for psychological interventions and stress management strategies in municipal workplaces to enhance safety culture and reduce accident risks.
