Emotional intelligence refers to the ability to recognize, understand, manage, and use one's own and others' emotions effectively and positively. This concept was introduced by Daniel Goleman in the ۱۹۹۰s and has since been recognized as a key factor in personal and professional success. Emotional intelligence not only affects personal relationships, but can also play a key role in improving job performance, decision-making, stress management, and improving mental health. This skill is very important in personal and professional life. People who are skilled in this field respond successfully to stressful situations and mental pressure. They also show the best performance in communicating with others, leading, collaborating, and solving problems. Mental and even physical health depend on this intelligence. Emotional intelligence not only affects mental health, but also has a tremendous impact on improving heart disease and better controlling diabetes and other chronic diseases. Even older people who have high emotional intelligence are less likely to suffer from anxiety and depression. The main proponents of humanistic psychology in this decade, Gordon Allbert, Abraham Maslow, and Carl Rogers, believed that one of the essential and pressing needs of man is to feel good about himself, to experience his emotions directly, and to grow emotionally. Freud, a famous figure in psychology, believed that the core of neurosis or neuroticism is anxiety. Anxiety is an internalized fear. The fear that painful past experiences will be recalled.
