Can Energetic Ionic Liquids be a Suitable Replacement for Traditional Propellant Fuel? A Systematic Review

In this review, we investigate the energetic ionic liquids as potential green replacement of propellant fuel. In this regard, the important features of designable structure of these kinds of ionic liquid investigate from different researches. We found that the EILs can be use as bipropellant and monopropellant fuel which are safe and environmentally friendly. In bipropellant EILs the cation and anion should have nitrogen-rich structure. While, the monopropellant ones should have combustive cation with oxidizer anion which use without any external oxidizer.
