چکیده مقاله:
With the intensifying global push for sustainable energy, integrating renewable energy into existing power systems has become a critical focal point for electrical engineers. This review explores the challenges and advancements in electrical engineering related to the design and integration of renewable energy systems. The transition from traditional fossil fuels to renewable sources such as solar, wind, and hydropower necessitates a comprehensive understanding of the complex engineering aspects involved. The first part of this review discusses the design challenges electrical engineers face in developing efficient and reliable renewable energy systems. Topics include optimizing power generation from intermittent sources, improving energy conversion technologies, and developing energy storage solutions to manage the inherent variability of renewables. Advanced design methodologies and innovative materials are discussed to enhance system performance and reliability. The second part focuses on integration challenges when incorporating renewables into existing power grids. Grid stability, power quality, and decentralized energy resource management are key concerns. Electrical engineers address these issues through advanced control systems, smart grid technologies, and energy management strategies. The role of energy storage systems and the emerging potential of microgrids in facilitating integration is also reviewed. Furthermore, the interdisciplinary nature of electrical engineering in the context of renewables is considered.
