Analysis of the effects of occupational vibrations on the general health of employees in one of the industrial projects in Rafsanjan

Background and Purpose: Vibration is one of the important problems in industrial environments. Workers in workshops are exposed to vibrations that can lead to problems in the skeletal, muscular, circulatory, and nervous systems and cause occupational diseases. This research aims to evaluate body vibration and the challenges related to it. Long-term exposure to vibrations can have negative effects on the health of employees. Methodology: This research is a cross-sectional study and a statistical population of ۲۰ people was conducted in one of the industrial projects of Rafsanjan city. It measured body vibration using a VB-۸۲۰۲ vibration meter and an SV۱۱۱ calibrator. Data was analyzed by SPSS۲۱ software. Findings: The results showed that the assessed vibration of the whole body of the excavator operator, automixer driver, loader and crane operators is more than occupational care and the limits of care are ۴.۰۵, ۷.۲۶, ۳.۹۱, ۷.۰۹ Aeq(ET), respectively, and the authorized persons are ۲۵, ۸, ۲۷, ۹ minutes respectively and it is recommended to reduce the exposure time, install dampers, vibration insulators and use personal protective equipment. Conclusion: Constant exposure to vibrations has negative physical effects that may lead to occupational diseases. Technical and medical measures should be considered to protect against vibrations of the whole body, hands, and arms. Keywords: whole body vibration, vibration, occupational exposure limit
