چکیده مقاله:

Code-switching in English language classrooms as an instructional strategy can have profound effects on student learning. This concept refers to the use of two or more languages simultaneously in the teaching process and allows teachers to use students’ native language to enhance second language learning. In fact, code-switching can help reduce students’ anxiety and create a friendly and less stressful environment. This method can be especially effective in classes where students with different levels of English proficiency are present. Using code-switching helps teachers explain complex concepts using students’ native language while also looking at real-life applications of English in everyday life. This type of teaching can lead to a deeper understanding of concepts and strengthen communication skills. Also, code-switching can provide more opportunities for discussion and interaction in the classroom and boost students’ self-confidence. However, to successfully implement this method, teachers need proper training and a deep understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of learners. This can help in providing constructive feedback and designing teaching activities that are tailored to their needs. Overall, code-switching can serve as a powerful tool in English language teaching to promote better and more comprehensive context learning and lead to the creation of a facilitating environment for learners.
