چکیده مقاله:

Translating cultural resources in Persian literature into English faces numerous challenges that arise as a result of the linguistic, cultural, and historical differences between the two languages and cultures. One of the greatest challenges is conveying the deep meanings and subtle cultural nuances inherent in the Persian language. Many idioms, proverbs, and cultural concepts in Persian have specific meanings that may not be easily translated into English. For example, words such as 'feast' or 'mehr' convey a specific cultural and emotional charge in addition to their literal meaning that may be incomprehensible to the English-speaking reader. In addition, the syntactic and expressive structures in Persian and English are drastically different. For example, Persian poetry is accompanied by specific rhymes and meters that may be lost in translation into English. This is especially true of poetic literature and literary and lyrical prose, where the beauty and rhythm of words play an important role. In this regard, translators can minimize these challenges by using various methods. One solution is to use explanations or footnotes that help the reader become familiar with the cultural and semantic background of the terms. Also, writing an introduction to the translated text can help explain the cultural and historical context. Using cultural equivalent translations can also be effective in some cases. For example, if a text refers to certain terms that do not exist in English, the translator can use cultural equivalents or similar terms that have a similar sense or meaning. Another suggestion is to collaborate with cultural experts in both languages to obtain more accurate and better backgrounds. In this way, the translator can preserve the originality and beauty of the original text while conveying the meanings. Translating Persian literature into English requires sensitivity to the cultural and linguistic angles of both parties in order to achieve a deeper understanding of the literary works and facilitate this cultural dialogue.
