چکیده مقاله:

Residual stress significantly impacts the mechanical behavior and integrity of materials, influencing their performance in structural applications. This study employs the Finite Element Method (FEM) within COMSOL Multiphysics to assess residual stress using acoustic-elastic relationships. The focus is on determining the eigenfrequencies of a structural steel sheet under both unloaded and loaded conditions, where shifts in eigenfrequencies are indicative of the presence of residual stresses. A ۲D model of the steel sheet, featuring a central hole, is simulated to replicate real-world conditions. The analysis demonstrates that variations in eigenfrequencies can effectively map the residual stress distribution in the material. This approach provides an efficient and non-destructive method for detecting residual stress, offering significant advantages over conventional measurement techniques. Furthermore, incorporating acoustic-elastic models into FEM simulations enhances the accuracy and practicality of residual stress assessment in engineering materials, making it a promising tool for structural health monitoring and failure prediction.
