چکیده مقاله:
Background and Aims: Edentulous patients face challenges in dental implant placement due to missing anatomical guides, which can lead to functional or aesthetic issues. AI-guided robotic systems have emerged as potential tools to improve surgical precision. The purpose of this review is to assess the role of AI-guided robotic systems in comparison to manual methods in the placement of dental implants by evaluating accuracy, efficiency, and patient outcomes. Methods: A literature review was conducted using both PubMed and Scopus databases, specifically including materials published between ۲۰۱۵–۲۰۲۴, and using the following search terms: 'AI in dental implants'; 'robotic surgery' and 'precision in implant dentistry'. Selected papers must make comparisons between manipulating the AI accessed robotic systems with the manual methods employed by standard dental and surgical processes. Data sources included cone-beam computed tomography scans and convolutional neural networks to suggest the ideal position for implant placement. Furthermore, common outcome measures across studies included displacement of placement from planned position, surgical intervention time, complication rates, and patient satisfaction. Robotic systems were compared based on their accuracy to sub-millimeter precision for restorations, as well as their capacity to make modifications to implants in real-time during procedures. Results The robotic group showed a mean implant deviation of ۰.۳ millimeters, highly significantly lower than ۱.۲ millimeters in the manual group. Surgical time dropped ۱۵% (۷۲ to ۶۱ minutes). Complications occurred in ۸% of robotic cases (mainly minor infections) versus ۲۸% in manual cases (infections, nerve injuries, implant failures). Patient satisfaction was higher in the robotic group, with ۹۵% reporting excellent function and aesthetics versus ۸۰% in the manual group. Conclusion AI-guided robotic systems increase accuracy in implant placement, while reducing the time taken for surgery, and improving patient satisfaction. The advancements made in AI-guided robotic systems demonstrate the potential for growth in the future of robotic assistance in implant dentistry. Future directions may include research related to long-term outcomes of AI-guided robotic systems for dental implants, multi-center trial studies, and also consider the ethics behind patient safety and data privacy.
