چکیده مقاله:
Background and Aims: The rapid development of digital technologies has greatly influenced healthcare, especially the nursing profession. Digital health tools—such as telemedicine, artificial intelligence (AI), electronic health records (EHR), and health apps—enable nurses to provide better and more accessible care. This review aims to explore how nurses use digital health to improve population health and identify the benefits and challenges of this approach. Methods: This is a literature review based on articles published between ۲۰۱۵ and ۲۰۲۴. Scientific databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar were searched using keywords like “Digital Health,” “Nursing,” “Population Health Promotion,” “Telemedicine,” and “Remote Patient Monitoring.” Relevant studies were selected and analyzed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the topic. Results: From the initial database search, a total of ۴۰ articles were retrieved. After screening titles, abstracts, and full texts based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, ۸ relevant articles were included in the final review. The analysis shows that digital health technologies support nurses in various aspects of population health, including remote patient monitoring, chronic disease management, and health education. Telemedicine enables nurses to deliver care to underserved populations; artificial intelligence helps process patient data and supports clinical decisions; and electronic health records improve continuity of care. Despite these benefits, challenges such as data privacy concerns, insufficient digital literacy among nurses, and limited infrastructure in some regions still remain. Conclusion: Digital health offers great potential for nurses to play a more active role in promoting population health. To achieve this, healthcare systems must invest in nurse training, ensure data security, and improve digital infrastructure. Combining the clinical skills of nurses with digital tools can lead to more efficient, equitable, and high-quality healthcare.
