چکیده مقاله:

Background: The adoption of virtual medicine, supported by e-health technologies and artificial intelligence (AI), experienced rapid and remarkable growth during the COVID-۱۹ pandemic and remains an essential and transformative aspect of modern healthcare delivery today. Methods: We thoroughly reviewed the literature to assess the effectiveness of telehealth and AI in preventing and treating musculoskeletal pain conditions. The review also explored research gaps and potential future directions based on studies published up to April ۲۰۲۴. Results: Telehealth, a new generation of healthcare services using electronic or telecommunication technologies, can enhance access to care in underserved areas or regions with significant barriers. Incorporating AI into musculoskeletal rehabilitation has the potential to alleviate pain and manage conditions like osteoarthritis effectively. Furthermore, the use of AI makes it feasible to conduct rehabilitation treatments in general healthcare settings, such as primary care, expanding access to specialized care outside traditional environments. Conclusion: The findings of this research showed that although telehealth and AI offer significant benefits, the effectiveness of virtual consultations compared to in-person healthcare interactions remains highly debated. This is particularly true in fields of medicine that depend heavily on physical examinations or the demonstration of therapeutic exercises and movements, where virtual methods may face limitations.
