چکیده مقاله:
Background and Aims: Designing and evaluating a clinical decision support system (CDSS) in pediatric nursing requires a holistic approach. This approach should prioritize user needs, integrate evidence-based guidelines, and continuously evaluate the system's impact on clinical outcomes. Healthcare facilities can create an effective CDSS for pediatric patients by following six steps. The goals of the CDSS should include improving patient outcomes by providing evidence-based recommendations, increasing the efficiency of clinical activities in pediatric nursing, reducing medication errors, and improving safety in pediatric care. Methods: The system's design is based on user-centered design. It involves pediatric nurses and healthcare providers in the design process to ensure that the system meets their needs and integrates seamlessly into their workflow. Data integration consists in accessing and analyzing data from electronic health records, laboratory results, and other relevant sources, including evidence-based clinical guidelines and protocols, with specific considerations including: age and design of alert systems for vital signs, potential drug interactions, and reminders of preventive care measures, selection of appropriate technologies for the CDSS, such as database management that stores clinical guidelines and patient data, use of machine learning algorithms for predictive analytics and personalized recommendations, and development of a user interface that is easy for nurses to use. Results: The evaluation framework includes tests of ease of use and integration of the system into pediatric nurses' clinical workflows, assessment of clinical outcomes, and measurement of the CDSS's impact on patient outcomes, such as reduction of medication errors and improvement of clinical performance. Conclusion: User feedback on their satisfaction with the system, implementation strategy, and training materials and refresher sessions for nurses are essential to ensure they are comfortable using the CDSS. It is imperative to implement CDSS in a controlled environment, identify issues before full-scale rollout, establish a system for continuous evaluation, and update it based on user feedback and new guidelines.
