چکیده مقاله:

Background: Women's healthy lifestyle as a factor in improving their health is influenced by a set of factors, one of the most key of which is health literacy. Therefore, this study examines the relationship between oral health literacy and health-promoting lifestyle in mothers who refer to health-treatment centers in Mashhad in Northeast of Iran. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on ۲۶۰ mothers who referred to the health centers of Mashhad in January to April ۲۰۲۴ by cluster sampling method. Data were collected using standard health promoting lifestyle and oral health literacy questionnaires and analyzed with SPSS ۲۵ software and chi-square, Kruskal-Wallis and Spearman correlation coefficient tests. A significance level of ۰.۰۵ was considered. Findings: The mean and standard deviation of the age of the participants was ۳۲.۹۴±۱۱.۷۰. The results of the present study showed that the mean and standard deviation of the total lifestyle score was ۱۲۸.۲۴±۲۳.۲۲ (within the range of ۵۲-۲۰۸). Also, the mean and standard deviation of the total oral health literacy score was ۱۰.۶۳±۳.۷۵ (in the range of ۰-۱۷) and ۸۵ people (۳۲.۷%) had insufficient health literacy. Among the dimensions of health-promoting lifestyle, the health responsibility component showed a statistically significant relationship with oral health literacy (p=۰.۰۲۹).
