Degradation study on Indigo-carmine effluent using tungstic acid/Hydrogen peroxide system

In this research, yellow tungsten oxide was produced by calcining the tungstic acid produced after leaching studies on the wolframite ore using HCl at a temperature of ۳۰۰ to remove its moisture content and any other impurities that could be present. The produced tungsten oxide which is to be use in carrying out degradation was characterized using XRD and FTIR. The degradation process was carried out using varied amount of the produced tungsten oxide with hydrogen peroxide as catalyst, the degraded dye samples was analysed using spectrophotometer at a wavelength of ۵۵۰nm for Indigo-carmine dye effluent. Optimum degradation was obtained at pH of ۵, ۲۵۰ mg/۱ml of tungsten oxide/ hydrogen peroxide and ۳۲۳ k. The findings suggest significance reduction in the level of unsaturation was obtained from the infra red spectrum of the degraded dye spectrum as compared to the Indigo-carmine dye effluent Infra-Red spectrum.
