چکیده مقاله:
Human efforts for the modern world have sparked a global initiative aimed at achieving unparalleled excellence in advanced building materials. The emergence of advanced technology has led to the utilization of smart materials in various applications within modern civil engineering, as well as across a diverse array of sectors such as agriculture, aerospace, marine, food and packaging, healthcare, sports and leisure, energy and environment, and space and defense. Smart materials and technology, which is relatively new, if well supported, can create high-value-added opportunities and have strong innovative content. Smart materials demonstrate distinctive superelastic properties under varying temperatures, shapes, and conditions, making them well-suited for a wide range of applications in earthquake structural engineering. These characteristics significantly enhance the resilience of infrastructure. The scope of this article is limited to an overview of the technology, and classification of Smart materials, intelligent structures and their applications. Insights from data collection on smart materials have many applications in modern civil engineering.
