چکیده مقاله:

The primary limitation of Permanent Magnet assisted Reluctance Synchronous Motor is excessive torque ripple arising from the interaction of the stator magnetomotive force and the rotor salient structure, which leads to excessive vibration and noise in addition to the motor’s overall performance degradation. The rotor shape has a significant impact on the machine's performance in terms of both average torque and its ripple content, which is improved by adopting a proper rotor design with multiple flux barriers per pole. This paper presents an optimal design of a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Reluctance Motor, with the primary goal of improving the torque profile through electromagnetic design. To achieve low torque ripple and high average torque, it is essential to carefully consider several critical parameters, including the dimensions of the permanent magnet (specifically, width and length), the air gap, the diameter of the shaft, and the angle of the flux barrier. Initially, a systematic examination of these parameters through sensitivity analysis can provide valuable insights into their influence on performance characteristics, thereby enabling the optimization of design parameters to align with desired performance objectives. Subsequently, the optimal values for these design parameters can be determined by employing Taguchi methods. Using this method, the average torque increases by ۹.۳۲%, and the torque ripple decreases by ۴۵.۷۶%. Additionally, this method reduces the permanent magnet (PM) size by ۲.۱۷%.
