As highway bridges approach the end of their design life or are designated as structurally deficient, the maintenance of bridge infrastructure becomes increasingly critical. Although significant efforts are directed toward the design and construction of new bridges, the continued functionality of existing structures necessitates regular inspections. Routine maintenance is essential for evaluating the condition of these structures, thereby ensuring their safety, reliability, and ability to achieve their intended service life. This study highlights the importance of incorporating structural modeling, instrumentation, and nondestructive testing (NDT) into the broader framework of bridge design, construction, and management practices. A baseline structural model was developed and validated using structural health monitoring (SHM) data. Initial velocity data were collected to analyze the natural frequency of the structure. Structural dynamic properties, such as modal frequency and mode shape derived from measurements, were evaluated to determine both the current condition and the anticipated performance of the bridge. The study finds that the modal frequency and vibration measurements of the FE model were ۲.۱۴۳ Hz and ۲.۱۲۲ Hz, respectively. These values serve as benchmarks for assessing the bridge’s present condition and simulating potential future damage scenarios. This research underscores the importance of advanced methodologies in extending the lifespan and ensuring the safety of bridge infrastructure.
