AI, NLP, and Legal Perspectives in Policing Cyberbullying of Children

In recent years, the internet and websites have grown exponentially, creating new avenues for violence, including cyberbullying specially against children. Cyberbullying is a contemporary kind of aggression characterized by the utilization of harmful content, images, and videos to target or ridicule an individual online using digital devices, including cell phones and other digital devices. Children from all backgrounds and genders may suffer negative consequences cyberbullying and it has become a significant risk factor for psychological issues, especially in teenagers. The biggest challenge is the growing usage of digital communication technologies, however, multiple opportunities for policy creation are available. Artificial intelligence can be a useful tool in improving protection of victims of cyberbullying. Natural language processing (NLP) is a subfield of artificial intelligence (AI) can recognize patterns, analyze text data, improve cyber security, and uncover insights by increasing threat detection. Besides summarizing the potential challenges and concerns about the usage of these methods. This study aims overview of NLP techniques that suggests ML and NLP approaches to use in policing and technological and legal framework and reveals that the modern era could provide a safe online environment for children by NLP techniques to recognize fraud, cyber abuse, and cyberbullying against children from the perspective of technology, policing, and legal framework.
