The fusion of Internet of Things and Digital Twin technologies within the realm of smart construction is ushering in a remarkable metamorphosis in the industry's operational, economic, and environmental dynamics. This study delves into the effects and prospects stemming from this fusion, highlighting its pivotal role in enhancing efficiency, slashing costs, managing resources effectively, and forecasting as well as alleviating risks. By harnessing real-time information and modeling various scenarios, these technologies empower companies to make wiser choices, elevate the quality and safety of their projects, and embrace environmental sustainability. Moreover, this convergence can nurture a culture of innovation within organizations and spawn new employment opportunities. Consequently, grasping the challenges and prospects in this domain will enhance the overall performance of the construction sector and fulfill the demands of contemporary societies. This research is envisioned as a strategic roadmap guiding the journey of digital transformation and attaining sustainable progress in the construction industry.
