چکیده مقاله:

In recent years, with the expansion of construction infrastructure, as well as the lack of areas with geotechnical characteristics suitable for construction, soil improvement and stabilization has become very important. The general goal of soil stabilization is to improve soil properties by using different methods and materials. Existence of problems such as the need to spend high energy (in terms of execution), limitation in the depth of improvement and the expensiveness of the equipment required in the existing methods, including preloading, use of reinforcements or additives such as Lime, cement and other chemicals have led researchers to use low-cost methods. Also, creating pollution in the environment in some improvement methods, including the use of chemicals such as lime and cement, has caused some environmental problems, such as various pollutions, and the use of some soil improvement methods has also caused The route of the underground water table has also been changed, which can endanger its health due to the human connection with the underground water. Part of the carbon dioxide emission due to the use of cement is related to soil stabilization applications. One of the appropriate methods with the aim of reducing cement consumption and replacing it is to use environmentally friendly materials in construction projects. The aim of this study is to provide an environmentally friendly soil stabilization solution. In this research, the stabilization of clay using biopolymer xanthan and metakaolin and under the influence of percentage and different variables has been investigated. The results show that the combination of metakaolin and xanthan biopolymer in clay stabilization has a strong potential to be used in environmentally friendly projects instead of conventional building materials.
