This study evaluates the seismic performance of ۵-, ۱۰-, and ۱۵-story steel concentrically braced frames (SCBFs) using the FEMA P۶۹۵ methodology. Three bracing layouts — DFT۱ and DFT۲ (conventional), and DFT۳ (topology-optimized) — are compared through Incremental Dynamic Analysis with ۲۲ ground motions. Results show that the DFT۳ configuration offers superior seismic safety, with higher Adjusted Collapse Margin Ratios (ACMRs) and up to ۳۱.۸% weight reduction in the ۱۵-story frame. The study demonstrates that topology optimization enhances structural resilience while minimizing material use, suggesting a promising design strategy for mid- and high-rise buildings.
