چکیده مقاله:

Successful waste management is central to the design of sustainable ecosystems that promote diversity and increase ecological capacity. This review integrates global approaches—ranging from composting organic wastes for providing soil microbial communities, using phytoremediation for reclaiming eroded soils, and adopting integrated waste management strategies in a circular economy framework—to derive maximum ecosystem benefits. By weaving these strands together, we present a novel paradigm for ecological restoration with particular reference to marginal ecosystems such as drylands and urban fringes. The evidence indicates that waste-to-resource approaches can foster species richness and increase ecosystem resilience to climate extremes. Yet, scalability constraints and socio-economic limitations require adaptive policies and context-tailored solutions. This research recognizes the dual function of waste management in mitigating pollution and preserving biodiversity, making practical recommendations for environmental engineers and policymakers to promote sustainable ecosystems globally.
