Examining Dimensions of Patient Rights in Health Tourism

Health tourism, a rapidly growing and transformative sector of the global medical industry, involves patients traveling internationally for diverse purposes such as advanced medical treatments, post-operative rehabilitation, or wellness therapies. Central to this dynamic is the crucial issue of safeguarding patient rights, which include legal, ethical, and cultural dimensions critical for ensuring equitable and ethical care. This research was systematic review uses the English and Persian keywords of health tourism, patient rights, cross-border healthcare, medical ethics these keywords in electronic databases including Scopus, web of knowledge and Medline was done using Google scholar and Google. Internal electronic databases also included SID, Magiran and Iranmedex. The articles and sources reviewed were from ۲۰۱۰ to ۲۰۲۴ Finally, ۳۸ articles were reviewed. Extraction of materials was done in order to achieve the purpose of the present study. It underscores the critical need for cohesive international efforts to establish standardized care protocols and foster a global framework that protects and empowers patients.
