چکیده مقاله:

The demand for healthcare services has increased for various reasons, including the aging population in developed countries, the availability of high-quality and affordable advanced medical services in developing countries compared to developed nations, long waiting lists for surgeries in developed countries, and the lack of health insurance which has become a common factor in medical travel. Today, the medical tourism industry is low-cost and highly profitable. The significance of the medical tourism sector is not only in attracting tourists but also in its potential to strengthen Iran's position and status in scientific, political, social, and regional terms. On average, each medical tourist spends between $۳,۰۰۰ to $۴,۰۰۰ in the country. Considering the high economic value of this industry, Iran has still not managed to play a significant role in this area. In this article, we aim to address the fundamental challenges that hinder medical tourism in Iran.
