چکیده مقاله:

The Persian Gulf is one of the most important centers of gravity in geopolitical, geoeconomic and international relations, which is dominated by two territories: Iran and the Arab world. The unique conditions for hydrocarbon production and accumulation have made this region one of the richest sedimentary basins for oil and gas resources in the world. The Persian Gulf holds a large part of the world's oil reserves, of which Saudi Arabia and Iran have the largest share. Since Iran is the largest and most powerful country in the Persian Gulf and has the largest geographical area and protective positions in this region, the Strait of Hormuz is of great importance to it and is in fact considered Iran's gateway to the world and the region. The Strait of Hormuz, located in southern Iran, is the waterway connecting the Persian Gulf to the Sea of Oman and the open waters. This strait, due to its direct and indirect dependence on the countries of the Persian Gulf and other countries of the world (in trade and transit of goods and energy) as well as its importance and communication, military and political role in historical periods, has geopolitical and strategic importance and role. Normally, in all governments in the world, they base the factors of power acquisition of countries on its geopolitical components and are strongly affected by this geopolitical component in their regional and global policies. Among these geopolitical components are sea routes, which are considered very important factors of power acquisition in the geopolitical structure of countries. Today, with the occurrence of new developments, including the discovery of oil and subsequent dramatic developments in the field of technology, the geoeconomic role of international straits has also received much attention. With the entry of major powers into these regions to secure their interests, the strategic dimension has expanded in addition to its geopolitical and geoeconomic dimensions.
